Pretoria – The United States of America (USA) has rejected an appeal by the Democratic Alliance (DA) to send election observers amid fear of vote rigging.
This is while different political parties raised concerns that the ANC might rig votes.
To this day there is no empirical evidence to support this view as the ANC lost the City of Cape Town and Western Province to the DA, the City of Tshwane, and the City of Ekurhuleni. If indeed the ANC wanted to steal they would have stolen those Cities including Nelson Mandela Bay.
US mission spokesperson, David Fieldmann came short of saying (we not getting involved).
“Our response is South Africa is a sovereign country, it runs its elections. The United States recognizes that the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has a long-standing and excellent reputation for operating free and fair elections.
We have all the confidence that will be the case these elections.”
Asked if the USA will not send any assistance as per the DA’s request he said.
“Those are the decisions for the South African government and the IEC as South Africa is a sovereign country.”
Seeking assistance from a country that can’t even manage its own politics is rather shocking.
The US have Donald Trump and Joe Biden contesting the elections and they are not even credible, they are the first to attack other countries and force regime changes.
The DA can accuse ANC of anything not stealing, I mean they are not thieves at least.
