2024 is not 1994 in numbers

Viljoenskroon – The 2024 national elections set for 29 May 2024 will be minus 14 million voters.

While 27 million voters have registered, a whopping 14 million have not despite eligibility.

The 50% turnout at recent by-elections indicates a lack of appetite from South Africans in general and their attitude towards casting their votes.

In 1994 people voted for the milk and honey in the promised land called “better life for all” but only for the few and elite to taste it.

With every election post-94, the voter turnout declined due to various reasons with lack of service delivery, unemployment, and corruption taking center stage.

The latest extended unemployment figures are at 41% with at least 1004 medical doctors unemployed because there is no money.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has a sponsored social media post urging citizens to register.

Coach Liphoko, provincial leader of the EFF said they are pushing their branches.

“We’re pushing our branches to reach their stipulated targets (of voter registration) before then.

-door to doors
-home affairs visits
-visits to institutions of higher learning“

Once the president proclaims the 29 May 2024, that would automatically cut any prospect if registering.
