Bloemfontein – While the announcement of the 2023 matric results is awaited with bated breath, the Free State Provincial Government is unleashing its EXCO across the province.
The back-to-school program in possession of this publication shows this program will run from today, 17 January 2024, till March 2024.
Leading from the front is Premier, Mxolisi Dukwana who will be at Lerato Primary School and ZR Mahabane Primary School in Qwaqwa.
MEC for COGTA and Human Settlement, Ketso Makume will be in Ladybrand, at Hermana while Police, Roads and Transport MEC, Maqueen Mathae will be in Tweepruit, Health MEC, Mathabo Leeto will be in Welkom.
Kopung Ralikontsane, Director General of the FSPG will be in Mangaung, Dr Mbulelo Nokwequ, HoD for DESTEA will be in Viljoenskrron while Dr Masego Tshabalala, HoD for Police Roads and Transport will be in Mangaung.
In total forty (40) schools will be visited in two days and Xhariep which is the most overlooked district has one school selected while Mangaung has fourteen schools.
Does it mean Mangaung is the leading district? Will that save December Moloi from the wrath coming his way?
Interestingly, none of the schools in Parys will get any visits as well, and it is not clear if this is political or just an oversight.
Brandfort, Theunisen and Virginia also overlooked.
At least 946 pupils will get school uniforms, mostly primary schools, that’s according to the SASSA list and this will be rolled out till March.
With dates to be confirmed while others will receive their uniforms in Feb, the million-dollar question is, what will these kids be wearing from today till then?
In other news, the hand writing experts have concluded analysis on the signature in the appointment letter that led to fraud case against Dukwana. That’s a story for another day.
