Qwaqwa- Former SABC COO turned politician Hlaudi Motsoeneng is aiming high to encourage voters to give him big votes in Maluti-A-Phofung.
Motsoeneng who hails from Thaba Bosiu in Qwaqwa will be gearing up for elections in a voter registration drive that his party African Content Movement (ACM) will be hosting at the 10 000 capacity Puthaditjhaba stadium on Saturday.
ACM is one of the political parties in Maluti-A-Phofung that has managed to secure two council seats during the 2021 local elections, and Motsoeneng said that he is optimistic that his movement will do well in the forthcoming national elections.
“We are a growing political party with the vision to change status quo and also build hopes of our people who had suffered long enough by empty promises made to them by uncaring politicians and political parties. As ACM, we believe in that our people deserve better and we are the only political party that will give our people the best once we are voted to power,” said Motsoeneng.
He said that on Saturday, his party will be stamping its authority in the region, which includes Qwaqwa, Kestel and Harrismith.

“With this being our inaugural rally as ACM, we are clear with our vision that we want to win elections in Maluti-A-Phofung and Free State at large with the aim of getting our representatives to the legislature and national parliament. We have massive support in the region and other regions of Free State, and in that regard, we are already building a foundation that will take us to the elections ready,” he said.
Through the voter registration drive, ACM roped in veteran actors who made the country laugh when they were stars of the SABC1 sitcom, Emzini We Zinsiswa, Jerry Phele who played Mofokeng and Jabulani Nkosi who was known as Chirwali.

Motsoeneng said that his party’s aim is to restore the dignity of the people while bringing basic services and opportunities to those who were abandoned by fat cats and greedy politicians.
“It is sad to see our people being left on their own to fend for themselves, to the point where they even regret their actions by voting certain parties to power, which have no interests on their well beings. With this voter registration drive, our party will be encouraging people to vote for the better choice where they will benefit for their betterment. We are focused and we know what our people want and for me as one of the people who know and understand the struggles of the people in my region, I am quite ready to bring needed changes that they want to see through ACM,” said Motsoeneng.
He said that his party has organized busses and taxis to ferry ACM’s supporters to Phuthaditjhaba, where 15 cows will be slaughtered.
“It is going to be a great day for all of us as we will also be feasting and celebrating this milestone of our first rally. We have organized 400 taxis including busses to take our members from various wards within Maluti-A-Phofung, and we are going to have a ball as we will be painting the town purple. We have invited young and old voters, including first time voters, as our aim is to encourage our people to vote, not just that, but to vote for the ACM,” he said.
To add cherry on top, Motsoeneng said that his party will also be celebrating a milestone of being the movement that is at the helm as last week ACM was elected to head the municipal public accounts committee in the Maluti-A-Phofung municipality, where it has defeated DA with 33 votes against five to ascend to the position that was previously held by the EFF.
