Bloemfontein – With national elections just a stone’s throw away, the ruling party, African National Congress (ANC) is resorting to the blame game, and what else to blame than apartheid when running out of excuses to avoid accountability?
Nobody will deny the lasting legacy and consequences of apartheid but to talk about the failure of railway infrastructure and say that because of apartheid, to blame Marshalltown and ANC’s lack of planning of urban migration and blame the apartheid for things that happened last week is dishonesty of the highest order.
Apartheid ended in 1994, that’s 29 years ago. While the rail infrastructure was dismantled during COVID-19, our porous borders are as open as the Ben Schoeman highway, even efforts to send illegal foreign nationals home is a useless exercise as they will be back after a week.
Interestingly, President Ramaphosa who headed the ANC’s deployment committee under former president, Jacob Zuma’s presidency said municipalities do not have qualified Chief Financial Officers and Town planners, while data shows otherwise proving that the president is lying.
A person born in 1994 is now 29 years old maybe married with kids, how do these excuses change poverty and unemployment?
It’s not like there are no qualified CFOs and town planners in the country, the ANC is deploying party loyalists who do not have qualifications.
