Bloemfontein – The African National Congress (ANC) leaders in the Free State Province are accused of double standards and hypocrisy over the expulsion of seven councilors on unfounded allegations.
These are the views of residents of Ward 7 which is part of the 4 wards heading to by-elections on 19 July 2023 as the community vow to punish the ruling party.
“They expelled Chabeli Rampai bard ( isn’t bad a poet?) in untested allegations that he voted with opposition but they don’t have evidence.”
Another resident said it was funny how the unity and renewal “loudhailers” pushed for the expulsion as soon as they ascended to power.
“The loudhailers of unity and renewal had their eyes and thumps on their comrades and opted for expulsion risking to go for by-elections and just like ANC in KZN, they will see arrogance of numbers does not work. KZN failed to gather enough support and have one of their own in the top 7 because of such.”
Our source concluded by making reference to Phalaphala votes which were done by show of hands and ANC members who voted for it defying the party line we were never expelled.
“Before we get to Phalaphala, our comrades voted with EFF under Msholozi, we know them and they were never expelled.
In December the Phalaphala matter was brought before parliament and our MPs voted for it and they are still MPs.”
The ANC will contest four wards in Mangaung and it remains to be if the ruling party will win in Wepener where PEC leaders were chased last month.
