Bloemfontein – The by-elections fever has hit the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality following the expulsion of 7 councilors by the ANC in the troubled municipality.
With the IEC announcing 19 July as the date, campaigning for the ANC started with a clash between better residents and Kenalemang Phukuntsi, ANC PEC member and Executive Mayor of Tswelopele Local municipality.
In the video, Phukuntsi can be heard telling a resident the F word.

A visibly annoyed resident then tells the crowed that the ANC will never win.
The ANC announced four candidates to fill vacant positions left by the expelled members and it will be ANC v M7.
In ward 7, ANC’s Clement Sehlabo will contest M7’s Chabeli Rampai and the rest as follows:
Ward 29 Dikololo Matshepe v Mpho Mokoakoa
Ward 49 Julia Lekhwele v Lehlohonolo Moqolo
Ward 50 Thabo Monare v Makoa Lelala
In Maluti-aPhofung the 16 expelled councillors dragged the ANC by the scrotum and took control of the municipality reducing the ANC into opposition.
It will be seen how Mangaung turns out.
