Ladybrand – The community of Marikana Informal settlement in Ladybrand woke to the sad news on Friday morning after a two-year-old girl was found near an abandoned house bleeding after being raped.
An elderly woman who together with her friends heard the child crying said they were on their way from the steam to fetch around 08H00.
She explains.

When the Step UP team drove to the crime scene they had to leave the car and walk for about 1000m as the area is not car friendly.
The informal settlement has far more issues apart from roads as there are no lights, no water and sanitation, and more importantly, most people there are unemployed.
At the time of publishing a manhunt had ensued and the child was taken to Senyorita Nhlabathi Hospital.
In other news, two brothers, Reamogetswe and Gao Seome were shot last week while dumping garbage at a quarry next to SouthPark cemetery.
Gao was shot 4 times while Reamogetswe 2 times. One bullet is stuck in Reamogetswe’s spine. They were robbed of their cell phones according to their mother, Segomotso Seome
She has asked for prayers and thanked everyone for their support.
