Bloemfontein – The Premier of the Free State Province, Honorable Mxolisi Dukwana is becoming known as an MIA agent following his failure to show up at the inaugural “Taking health services to the People” event that was held in Bohlokong’s New Hall yesterday.
The invite for the event had Premier Dukwana and MEC Mathabo Leeto.
This is not the first time Dukwana fails to show up at a government event, he pulled the same stunt on 27 April 2023, at the Freedom Day celebration.
Sources say the Free State Health Department was only notified on the day of the event that the Premier was not going to come and no reasons were provided.
According to the health department, the event started as early as 05h00, and among the services provided were:
- Eye Care,
- Dental Care,
- Prosthetics,
- TB,
- HIV/AIDS,
- Glucose
Also missing in action is how the department will roll out the exemptions on hospitals and clinics as per the court order last week.
The department will also celebrate International Nurses Day.
