ANC Free State silent on who and how much Imvelo Lodge was paid for at least 3 events

A few years ago St Georges Hotel in Irene was the place to be under the leadership of former president, Jacob Zuma, almost if not all National Executive Meetings of the ANC were held at the hotel.

In the past month or so Imvelo Lodge has played a similar role in Free State having hosted:

The now-disputed Mangaung Regional Conference;
2nd Leg of the National Conference;
and today, it will host the Provincial Conference which will elect the new leadership

With the ANC in the province allegedly having failed to pay staff salaries the question of who booked and how much was paid in total becomes very necessary.

According to sources, the lodge belongs to Dasheko who is a businessman and an ANC member.

It’s not clear if the ANC is using this facility for free or if someone is paying on its behalf but according to another source, there is a possibility that another businessman has a long-term contract with Mangaung Metro and allegedly he is financing the Southern Sun branch.

In other news, there are at least 18 parallel branches in Mangaung and the IPC and NEC spent the better part of Thursday trying to resolve this.

This conference will likely reduce the festival of chairs to nothing unless SANDF sends its troops from the Tempe Military base.

Oupa Khoabane, IPC spokesperson, and Lindiwe Dasheka who is the daughter and PA to the owner didn’t respond to our questions.
