With all eyes on Free State as the ANC in the province prepares for the province conference despite the unlikelihood, Thabo Manyoni launched his campaign on Saturday calling the current system of leaders ‘post turtle’.
The Thabo Manyoni campaign TM22 was launched at Kopano Nokeng lodge just outside Bloemfontein and all five regions were represented.

According to the media release, it was agreed, “to go out and engage comrades they traditionally regarded as enemies for the good of the organization”
With Manyoni as the preferred candidate for the chairmanship, the provincial secretary candidate for this slate is the current Provincial Coordinator, Paseka Nompondo according to Tseliso Mokoai.

The remaining three positions namely; deputy chairperson, deputy secretary, and treasure are still up for grabs as “talks are ongoing” according to Mokoai.
Sources close to the camp say there are negotiations with Sefora Ntombela, Free State Premier and William Buwane, MEC for Police, Roads and Transport for the deputy chairperson position.
It looks like the old disbanded PEC is returning.
Apart from calling the current system pole turtle Manyoni said nothing but giving history of the ANC.
In the 23 minutes long speech he did not even sell himself, why he is better than others, or what his chairmanship would contribute in the bigger scheme of things he said nothing.
Maybe he does not need, he has no competition after all.
To run a campaign you need at least R70 million and we asked Monnapule Ntamo who was funding the Manyoni campaign on the 9th of June 2022 and he said they do not have funding.
In other news Ntombela has appointed Masego Tshabalala as HoD at Police, Roads and Transport.
