The Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) in the Free State Province is divided over the Bloemfontein high court that ordered the Mangaung Interim Regional Committee(IRC) to be disbanded.
This followed an application by Ditaba Mokhutle, Betty Cezula and Thabiso Selielane after their memorandum of demand handed over to Mxolisi Dukwana, IPC Convener which included the disbandment of Mangaung Interim Regional Committee was not turned to attention.
According to sources privy to the situation on Sunday Dukwana withdrew from the virtual Provincial Working Committee (PWC) meeting when his request to appeal the decision was rejected.
While the IPC held its two-day meeting it was reported that the Provincial Coordinator, Paseka Nompondo was attacked viciously by those who support the move to appeal the high court judgment but he put his foot down.
“The only person who has the authority to brief lawyers and to also appeal is the Provincial Coordinator and he won’t do that”, said the source.
Another said it’s funny that those who entered the IPC after the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) judgment are screaming appeal the loudest.
“The formation of the IPC was after the National Working Committee(NWC) instructed the now-defunct PEC not to appeal the SCA judgment and tasked former president Kgalema Motlanthe to merge two factions and it’s funny that those who entered the IPC through the window are the ones shouting appeal.”
The IPC will today hold a media briefing at Kaizer Sebothelo House to report on the conference roadmap.
The last time FS ANC delegates voted in national conference was in 2007, in Polokwane. In 2012 and 2017 they were barred by the court.
This just shows how great things are in the province, no leadership at all.
In other news, Ditaba Mokhutle says the ANC in Free State Province needs a young Premier and said he is throwing his weight behind Makalo Mohale.
“Makalo Mohale must be the Premier, he changed DESTEA and is young.”
