“Ha ke le tshabe nna”, MEC’s son tells EXCO

“Ha ke le tshabe nna” which can easily be translated as “ I am not scared of you” were the words the son of Tate Makgoe, Free State Education MEC told the Premier Sefora Ntombela and her MECs in response to a question from the floor during the launch of June Month.

The launch paraded four male graduates pushing a conservative narrative under the leadership of the ANCWL deputy president who screams women empowerment at every chance she gets it was not shocking.

According to a leaked video of the launch which was held on the 9th June 2022 at OR Tambo building had a panel of graduates that comprised of Serame Mogotsi a quantity surveyor, Kagiso Pule a civil engineer, Tshepo civil engineer technician, and Taole Tsoehlisi energy systems engineer who is the son of Premier’s Chief of Staff, Manko Tsoehlisi.

After the four made their presentation Palesa Chubisi, the Program Director, and one of Premier Ntombela’s spokesperson invited Paul from JP4IR to the podium, which MEC Makgoe’s son is a partner to make their presentation despite the company not being panelists.

During the presentation, Paul said they work with Grey College to teach pupils robotics.

The problem started during a question and answer session where Paul, Makgoe’s partner who earlier said their company was working with Grey College was asked which schools from the township are they working with, Paul tried to answer by mentioning five privileged schools against three township schools. While he tried to explain why they are unable to cover township schools Chubisi asked Paul if he is indirectly asking MEC Makgoe to fund them and he asked Makgoe Junior to answer.

He started by saying he is not scared of them.

“You guys are making Paul uncomfortable nna ha ke le tshabe.’

Makgoe Junior said it’s not fair to shout township schools.

“The question that was asked, we are a start-up, we have only been working for a year and you can’t save the world.

I think it’s not fair to shout township schools while we do not get support. The progress is looking good now.”

Sources privy to the government say in a province where kids and relatives of politicians use their proximity to advance their businesses the addition of Tsoehlisi and Makgoe in the panel is to bring them closer to purse through the influence of their parents.

A source said this happens even in tenders.

“If you look closely, this is how even tenders in government are awarded, they will invite five companies knowing very well which company will get the job.

Watch this space, both government and private sector will come on board and support these companies because they are close to power and authority.”

Look no further than state capture.”

Another source said it is embarrassing for MEC’s son to tell the entire EXCO that he is not scared of them.

Asked if it’s wrong for kids and families of politicians to get business from the government she said.

“There is nothing wrong with their kids and families doing business with government but you as Step Up have covered the nonsense in this province where the same Premier’s daughter was made a deputy director with matric while the MEC of Education hired a convicted criminal and turned the department into his fiefdom.”

In other news this publication has it on good authority the Premier’s Top 50 Youth Awards which were billed for 28 June have been postponed with sources alleging even the resort owners where awards were going to be held didnt even know they were hosting.

Another interesting discovery is by 27 June 2022, overaged people were still nominated.

The awards are sponsored by Free State Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation among others, the same department that fail to appointment a security company despite issuing RFQs and has been having one company on month-to-month contract since 2018.
