Leaked Audio Part 1 of 3: “I am going to resign soon, they want me out”, CENTLEC chairman tells DA councilor in Mangaung

Leaked audio of the meeting between Kenosi Moroka, Centlec SOC chairman, and Mokgadi Kganakga, DA councilor in Mangaung Metro raises eyebrows.

In the audio clip, though not very audible Moroka starts by telling Kganakga to send him a text and exactly what to say in the text, “Moroka thanks for agreeing to see me. I just wanted to see you as a chairperson of Centlec.”

Moroka goes further to tell Kganakga that he is suspected of leaking information to her and says she is putting him in trouble by doing the right thing.

It’s not clear what he is referring to “by doing the right thing”.

Kganakga then sends an SMS in which Moroka asks why SMS, not WhatsApp in which Kganakga says an SMS can’t be doctored.

The conversation in the 1h30 minutes audio in possession of this publication turns to the Centlec board as Moroka tells Kgangkga of a former Board member, Yoliswa (Skwintshi) to which Kganakga tells Moroka he must never allow anyone to disrespect him and if anyone talks to her in that tone she will not accept it.

Kganakga then tells Moroka she will be writing emails to the council including Auditor General to which Moroka says she must copy him.

While Moroka tells Kganakga how CEO, Malefane Sekoboto told the board he will not be attending the board as long as Moroka is the chair and no board member responded to that apart from Yoliswa Skwintshi.

After telling her he will be resigning soon because they want him out especially after Mxolisi Siyonzana, Mangaung Metro Mayor did nothing after Malefane Sekoboto wrote to the Mayor that his (Moroka) action was illegal to which Kganakga laughs before saying, “I am very disappointed, you cant be Executive Mayor and not have……..”

While Moroka was complaining about former board member Yoliswa Skwintshi, Kganakga is heard saying “wa hlanya” she is crazy.

After telling Kganakga of his pending resignation she tells him to strategize before he leaves and refers to Centec CEO, Malefane Sekoboto as a “boy”.

Asked about the meeting Kganakga said, “As you read from 48:01 what I emphasized to Moroka is that the powers lie with him as the chair and no one has the right to undermine him.”

Moroka said he had been invited to a meeting by the DA lady and the meeting was informal.

Asked who recorded the meeting he said, “no recordings were agreed upon for the meeting. From the recording, it is self-evident who was recording and is not me.

Just listen to the recording where it is audible, you will hear for yourself who had a recorder or was recording. You also know who gave you the recording.”

This is part one of three.
