K-word Mayor to face the music while step-aside is abused to target Mayor Modise over frivolous charges  

The mayoral positions in the Free State Province seem to be poisoned chalice, as two Mayors will know their fate with the IPC and court respectively.
 
In a video that went viral Motlogeloa Mokatsane, Executive Mayor of Moqhaka Local Municipality is heard using the K-word about black people being born as criminals.

In 2020 the ANC in Free State placed Nkosinjane Speelman on suspension after he called coloreds “boesman”.
 
Speelman had been recorded making the remarks to soldiers who were deployed for lockdown.
 
He accused the colored community of Bronville of being drunkards and loitering the streets in violation of lockdown regulations.
 
The Theunissen court will on Thursday be packed by residents of Brandfort in support of Executive Mayor Dimakatso Modise who will be making her second appearance after her arrest last month.
 
According to sources with intimate knowledge, Modise is targeted by a group of people who want total control of Masilonyana Municipality and she is a stumbling block.
 
Another source said people were paid to implicate Modise.
 
“They are doing everything to remove her and we know people who were taken to Aldam in Welkom were paid to lie under oath and implicate her.
 
Also, there is a police investigation officer based in Theunissen who is part of this plan and was in that meeting in Aldam. He is the one in charge of this case.”
 
A source from Theunissen who spoke on condition of anonymity said the accused persons were told that they will be pardoned if they implicate Modise.
“The accused were told they will be pardoned if they make statements implicating Mayor Modise and we will go to court and fight for her.
 
What’s even sad is she was not even in Winburg and the police took her phone during election campaigns and found nothing.”
 
In conclusion, he said, “The Dukwana faction in our region is abusing the step-aside and we are watching.”
 
This is what Oupa Khoabane, spokesperson for the IPC said concerning K-word Mayor.
 
“The IPC takes thee utterances seriously, and this matter is going to be referred to DC and Integrity Commission.
 
Remember what Speelman went through because of such utterances, this one is no different”
