More drama at Mangaung Metro amidst NCOP visit

Leaked text messages allege the imminent motion-of-no-confidence against Mangaung Metro Mayor, Mxolisi Siyonzana, is being planned with the help of disgruntled African National Congress (ANC) members in the municipality.
This as Step Up News reported that the motion-of-no-confidence was initiated by John Mokoena, the leader of Afrikan Alliance of Social Democrats (AASD).

Its alleged they meet at a guesthouse and a local businessman is paying for all transportation of marchers.

Meanwhile, the Select Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Water and Sanitation in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) led by China Dodovu, are today meeting the Mangaung Metropolitan team, labour union SAMWU, SALGA and Mxolisi Dukwana at O R Tambo building at 09h00. The teams will be expected to provide their presentations which the committee will deliberate on and report to parliament.

This follow’s last week’s meeting that the committee had to postponed before Dodovu lashed out at the Mayor and his team and threatened to dissolve the municipality.

In the leaked audio the angry Dodovu can be heard raising service delivery issues, same as former president Thabo Mbeki and many.

Earlier this month Mzi Nkungwana, acting City Manager wrote a letter to Mxolisis Siyonzana complaining of interference from two MMCs and even pulling him out of the meeting with Bloem Water CEO. Dr Moorosi.

The residents of Mangaung have been without water for ten days now and its interesting that everyone is crying but no one cared when Qwaqwa residents complained about water.

Its very rude to ask anyone from Bloemfontein if they bathed, don’t do it, don’t ask them.

There is also talk of a shutdown which is allegedly sponsored.
