Following incidents of 15th February 2022 which led to the ejection of Hlonelwa Nkomo, former Centlec CFO from Centlec premises after she reported for duty, judge Daniso has ordered Nkomo not to:
Enter Centlec premises,
To resume any of the functions of Chief Financial Officer
And/or
Passing herself off as the current CFO or any other contracted officer or the employee of the applicant (Centlec)
This followed Nkomo’s short-lived tenure as Centlec CFO that was mud with allegations of dishonesty, fraud and forgery among others.
A copy of the judgement in possession of this publication indicates the matter will sit on the 25th March 2022 and Nkomo should show why the abovementioned order not made final pending finalization of part B and she had till 11th March 2022 to file her affidavit with Centlec expected to file their answering affidavit on Friday, 11th March 2022.
A source with intimate knowledge at Centlec said political and board interference led to this.
“This appointment was heavily influenced politically and by extension the board, they both had vested interested and these are the results.
Now everyone is distancing themselves from this mess, it’s Malefane Sekoboto, CEO who has to battle this.”
BACKGROUND: Centlec SOC appointed Nkomo as CFO in July 2021 and suspended her in the same month following series of allegations including forgery after a law firm alleged she forged their letter in order to recover her attached goods.
Step UP SA News is in possession of audio recording of Nkomo’s ejection from Centlec premises on the 15th February 2022 and asked if she had communicated with Centlec that she would be returning to work after the settlement Nkomo said.
“My attorneys have been in constant contact communication with the board and Centlec attorneys. So, Board, the attorneys and CEO were aware that I am going to work following the breach.”
About who was in a meeting when she got ejected on the 15th February 2022, Nkomo said.
“There were two police officers, Shirley Leteno, Gerald Nkota, Brian Leserwana, Robert Lebudi and two Centlec security guards.”
Its not clear at this stage why she opened a case against Centlec CEO, Malefetsane Sekoboto who was not in the premises when she was ejected but she said she was requested not to comment on the ongoing case.
Nkomo alleges her suspension was a result of her grievance and did not respond to questions around a letter Symington De Kok allege she forged having used their letterhead purportedly providing instructions to sheriff of the court to release her attached goods.
A letter signed by T. O’reilly from Symington De Kok dated 21 December 2020 reads, “At some stage we became aware thereof that the sheriff returned the attached assets to the tenant.
After making enquries we ascertained that the tenant apparently forged a letter on Symington De Kok’s letterhead which was provided to the sheriff’s offices in which Symmington De Ko purportedly provided instructions to the sheriff’s offices to relase the goods.
We can confirm that this letter was forged.”
With regards to her short-lived tenure at Centlec Nkomo said she is still employee of Centlec.
“I am still under the employment of Centlec. I was never dismissed nor have I resigned.”
Malefane Sekoboto, Centlec CEO could not be reached for a comment.
