Members of the African National Congress (ANC) in Free State are up in arms against, Mxolisi Dukwana, the convener of the Interim Provincial Committe (IPC).
This follows the announcement by Premier Sefora Ntombela that MEC of COGTA, Mxolisi Dukwana will now also be responsible for Human Settlement.
Prior to this announcement Human Settlement fell under MEC Koloi who is now responsible for Public Works only.
ANC members in Thabo Mofutsanyana and Lejweleputswa are now turning against Dukwana blaming him for turning the renewal into his personal fiefdom.
A source from Thabo Mofutsanyane who spoke on condition of anonymity said Dukwana should have refused and rather allowed a female IPC member to head Human Settlement.
“Comrade Dukwana missed an opportunity to lead, he should have declined and rather allowed a female IPC member to head Human Settlement, now he is seen an apportunist.”
The other source said that Mxolisi is deliberately ignoring the six point plan.
“The document which the two warring factions signed with Kgalema Motlanthe as a facilitator of unity talks is now ignored. He is delibarately ignoring the six point plan.”
According to this source, that document simply meant that there should be 50/50 representation between the two groups in all leadership positions as well as governance.
“Dukwana is failing us, what happened to 50/50 represantion of all groups in government? We have capable leaders such as MaQueen, Kenaleng Phukuntsi and Kele Wesi to mention few. They should be in government implementing our programs.”
He concluded, “They cant do anything because Dihelele Motsoeneng, deputy coordinator is a full time employed by Police and spends most of his time in Gauteng, so Paseka Nopondo is having carte blanche, more like waving a hyena to guard goats.”
So far, almost 9month after the establishment of the IPC, it is only Mxolisi Dukwana who is in thick of things.
Many of those who supported him are now feeling disgruntled and sidelined. Talk is he not talking to all of them and takes decision through a cabal based in the now infamous Southern Sun hotel, within the cycles of the ANC in the province.
Dukwana during his testimony at Zondo Commission admitted that he accepted R10,000 from Rajesh Gupta.
Oupa Khoabane, IPC spokesperson referred us to Free State goverment as executive reports to Premier.
